For the uninitiated, I love making a list of the things I’d like to accomplish. I post these lists, not necessarily to be perfect, but to give myself some guidelines to go off of. I take inspiration from Gretchen Rubin’s “Design Your Year,” which I enjoy pouring over at the beginning of each year.
So, here it is: some things I want to do in 2026:
- Continue my monthly dinner parties, hosting all 12 this year.
- Plan and execute two domestic trips/vacations.
- Schedule one additional “friend date” a month.
- Query my book(yes, really this time. It’s actually fully written, so this might really happen this year).
- Read 52 Books.
- Write 52 Blog Posts.
- Post 52 long form videos (If you would like to follow along on my Youtube Channel, click here).
- Do a complete home audit/purge of all items.
- Sell all purged items on Pango/Poshmark, and invest what is made.
- Keep to a savings goal, and save up a certain amount(I have this notated to myself).
- Create and stick to a morning and evening routine.
- Spend less time consuming content, and more time creating.
- Evaluate community club involvement, and which ones I am sticking with and engaging with.
- Run a 5k every month with my sister.
- Commit to an annual low buy(particularly with books – I’ll be documenting this on my Instagram).
- Gamify your eating out (for every nine meals in a category- breakfast, lunch, dinner- I can do one meal out).
- Set up dentist and eye doctor appointments (I haven’t been in three years, don’t judge me).
- Use the summer to do a movie project. In high school, I would dedicate the summer to watching an actors whole filmography. I’m thinking Jack Lemon.
- Take advantage of free fun happening around town(free museums, free movies in the park, etc.)
- Use Sunday as a home and car reset day(I tried this last year, didn’t happen at all).
- Take more pictures to document projects and experiences.
- Build a small “analog” collection of DVD’s.
- Figure out a holiday plan moving forward. Who am I spending holiday’s with?
- Play with Sunflower for at least 15 minutes a day.
- Develop a small collection of “go-to” recipes.
- Visit Gainesville 2-3 times this year.
I’m looking forward to a busy but productive year.
What are your goals for 2026? Looking forward to hearing what your goals are for this year!
