No Greater Agony

Do you have a story inside you that is dying to escape, but you just don’t have the time, or energy, or you get discouraged? Maya Angelou once said “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” When you are holding on to that story, waiting for the right moment, then you are wasting time because you are carrying the burden of your untold story.

Here are some things to think about:

  • Your story won’t be perfect the first time, or the second time, of the eighth time. Writers rarely pick up and read their own work because of the burden of perfection. Don’t worry about your story being good. Worry about your story being yours.
  • Publishing should not be your end goal. Yes, publishing can be lucrative, but there are millions writing stories, thousands who finish, hundreds who attempt to publish and one person who actually does. You’ll regret not getting it out on paper more than you regret not sharing it with the world.
  • Letting out your feelings is a good, calming, productive way to handle your personal problems and frustration with your life. Make the most of this release, it’s good for you!

That’s what I have for now guys! I’m sorry I’ve been neglecting you all, I’ve been a bit busy with school. Things are slowing down a little bit, so hopefully I can focus on you all a little more 🙂

Good Luck and Happy Writing,

Mehek
