Dear Reader, I should add to my New Years Resolutions a plan to keep up with my GoodReads account. Because this year, I read quite a few books, and I should probably organize them…somehow. I read 34 books this year, which is WAY UP from the 7 I read in 2015, and that’s something to be proud of. I don’t have dates for when I read these books, but I started reading this year around April, and read pretty consistently after that. So let’s get into it:
I only started reading books again in April, and so far this year, I’ve read 27. Since we’ve got about 4 months left of the year, I figured now was a good time to break down what I’ve been reading, why, and what’s next.
I read (and by read I mean listened to the audiobooks of) Bad Feminist by Roxanne Gay and The Geek Feminist Revolution by Kameron Hurley over the last few months. While both amazing pieces of feminist literature that should be read by the mass public and in sociology and media critique classes, I think there is something to be said about timing.
